Railways comprise the main transport option in Switzerland with buses acting as feeder routes linking train stations with more inaccessible destinations.
The yellow postbuses are much more than just a secondary transport option. Regular postbuses run on 685 scheduled routes, covering a daily distance equivalent of five times the circumference of the earth and transporting 91 million passengers a year.
The ubiquitous postbuses are supplemented by PostCars – luxury coaches which operate tours and day trips in some of Switzerland’s most scenic regions. In some cases the post bus is your only travel option, going places where even cars are not allowed to go.
